Section 52 of the Hospital and Chnritablo Institutions Act. 1920, Section 50 of the Auckland and Suburban Drainage Act, 1908, and of all other powers it thereunto enabling, the One Tree Hill Borough Council hereby resolves that it intends on WEDNESDAY, May 23, 1934, to make and levy the following Rates for the year commencing on April 1, 1931, and ending on March 31, 1935, viz.:— 1. A General Rate of One shilling and three farthings (l.Ojd) in the £. 2. A Hospital and Charitable Aid Rate of Fivepence halfpenny (55d) in the £. 3. A Lighting Rate of Twopence (2d) in the £. Upon the Annual Rateable Value of all Rateable Property as appearing in the Valuation Roll for the time being in force in the Borough of One Tree Hill. 4. A Drainage Kate of Threepence farthing (3}d) in the £ upon the Annual Rateable Value of all Kateable Property in the Drainage Area as defined by the Auckland and Suburban Drainage Act, 1908, and its Amendments. 5. A Sanitation Rate of Ten shillings (10s) on each property, tenement, flat, shop or other building from which the Council is prepared to remove refuse. 0. A Sanitation Rate of Two pounds four shillings (£2 4s) upon all properties outside the Drainage Area from which the Council is prepared to remove nightsoil. 7. Water Rates— Upon nil lands and buildings to which water is supplied and recorded by muter, the rates provided by By-law No. 5 in that behalf. Upon all lands and buildings to which water can be but is not supplied, situated within one hundred yards from any part of the Waterworks, a ralo of Five shillings (ss) where tho Annual Value does not exceed £l2 10s, and where such Annual Value exceeds £l2 10s a rate of 2 per centum upon the Annual Rateable Value. SPECIAL RATES will bo collected as follows : Interest Account No. 2 (Original Drainage Area), Threepence (3d) in the £. Interest Account No. 0, Fourpence halfpenny (4id) in tho £. Interest Account No. 9, One penny halfpenny (lid) in tho £. Conversion Loan No. 3 (combining Drainage Loans Nos. 7 and 8), Elevenpence (lid) in the £. The foregoing Rates (with tho exception of .Water Rates charged by meter, which are payable half-yearly on June 1 and December 1) will be payable in one sum on the Ist day of June, 1934, at the Council Office, 456 Mannkait Road, One Tree Hill, to Arthur Leese, the Council's Collector, or to such other person as may bo appointed to collect the same. Tho Estimates upon which tho foregoing Rates are being struck, having been approved by the Council, are, together with the Valuation Roll, open for inspection during office hours at the Council Office, 450 Mannkau Routl, One Tree Hill. REBATE ON RATES. Pursuant to Section 04 of the Rating Act, 1925, a Rebate of 2} per centum will bo nllowed on all Rates due for the current Rating Year, with the exception of Water charges by meter, that are paid 30 days' from date of demand thereof.
