INDIAN LABOUR DECISION SOME HOSTILITY SHOWN DEPRESSION IN INDUSTRY By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright (Received April 22, 5.5 p.m.) CALCUTTA, April 21 As a sequel to protracted disputes over hours and wages the Bombay, Ahmedabad and Sholapur labour unions have decided to call a general strike of textile workers for Monday. Sections of the workers, especially in Ahinedabad, are hostile to the decision owing to the depressed condition of the industry. The Bombay police arrested Girni Kaingar, a strike leader and president of the Bed Flag "Union, on a charge of making a seditious speech in connection with the trouble between the cotton workers and mill owners.
YOUNG TERRORISTS TERMS OF IMPRISONMENT BOMB OUTRAGE PLANNED (Received April 22, 9.35 p.m.) CALCUTTA, April 22 Nine youths have been sentenced in Cocanada, South India, to terms of imprisonment ranging from two to 14 years for a terrorist conspiracy. The trial lasted seven weeks.
The case was a sequel to the discovery of a plot to throw a bomb at a local police official.
