SUGAR PRICES RAISED
ADVANCE OF 5/- A TON An increase of 5s a ton in the wholesale price of sugar, to take effect today, is announced by the Colonial Sugar Refining Company, Limited. This follows two reductions of 10s a ton within a month.
The new prices are as follows: Brewers' crystals, £26 15s a ton; caster sugar, £2B 10s; No. 1 coarse grain, £26; No. 1A fine grain, £25 ss; No. 2 soft, £24 15s; No. 3, £23 15s; Invert sugar, £23 ss. Increases have also been made in the price of golden syrup and treacle.
