AUCKLAND AERO CLUB MACHINE DAMAGED IN A CRASH AFTER ITS UNAUTHORISED REMOVAL FROM MANGERE EARLY ON SATURDAY MORNING After being removed from the hangar at Mangere about 4 a.m. ox* Saturday, this Moth machine was flown only a short distance before it crashed into a mangrove BW *»"P upper reaches of the Manukau Harbour. A note left stated two men proposed to fly to Australia. Arrests in connection with th* aeroplane a removal were effected on £a to y evening. Left: Salvaging the damaged machine from the mud. Right: As the aeroplane appeared when found. A track through the mangroves had to be cut in order to salvage machine.
