BURNS PROVE FATAL
HORSE TRAINER'S DEATH Mr. William Murrell, aged 32, liorse trainer, of Mentone, who was severely burned when ho rescued his wife from burning stables on March 24, died in the Melbourne Hospital on April 4. He was unaware that his wife had died the day after tho fire. Mrs. Murrell rushed into the burning stable in a vain attempt to save her horse, Garryowen, the winner of many show championships. Garryowen and another liorse were burned to death. Mr. Murrell followed his wife into the building and dragged her from the flames, both being severely burned. They were admitted to the Melbourne Hospital. Mr. Murrell had been on the danger list sinco then, and the news of his wife's death had been withheld in the fear that it might prejudice his chances of recovery.
