PEDIGREE STOCK
SHIPMENT TO FIJI A shipment of pedigree stock for Mr. N. S. Chalmers, of Ba, Fiji, was made by Wright, Stephenson and Company, Limited, by the steamer Karetu on Friday. It consisted of a yearling Friesiart bull and a six-month Friesian bull calf, selected from the herds of the Hobson Farm at Wharepapa, near Helensville, and from Mr. J. W. Byer's herd at Takapuna, and four Large White sows and a young boar from the Government experimental farm fit Ruakura and tho Waione Model Piggeries, Limited, Papakura.
It is the object of Mr. Chalmers to breed a better class of stock than has previously been bred in Fiji. Tho pedigree of the two bulls shows them as having been bred from proven butterfat and type strains.
