BLIND EX-SOLDIERS

REUNION IN AUCKLAND CIVIC RECEPTION TO-DAY The tiiree days' reunion in Auckland of blinded New Zealand ex-soldiers will commence to-day. The men will meet this morning at the New Zealand Institute for the Blind, where an assembly room has been provided as the reunion headquarters, and at noon tho party, with their wives, will be extended ji civic reception at the Town Hall. The public is invited to attend. In the absence of the Mayor, Mr. G. W. Hutchison, the deputy-mayor, Mr. A. J. Entrican, will preside at the reception. Short speeches of welcome will be given by Mr. A. J. Hutchinson, chairman of tho Blind Institute, and by Mr. H. J. Clifton, representing the Commercial. Travellers' Blinded Soldiers' Fund. Replies to the welcome will be made by Mr. W. Woods, of Christchurch, and Mr. D. McPhee, of Auckland. The men wfll be enterfained at luncheon by the Auckland Rotary Club and the ladies by the Overseas League. This afternoon the chairman and trustees of the institute will give a reception, when the institute's band, orchestra and choir will provide music. To-morrow morning the blinded soldiers will discuss matters affecting their welfare and, after luncheon at the institute, will bs entertained at afternoon tea at Government House by the Gov-ernor-General, Lord Bledisloe, and Lady Bledigloe.
