WAGES CUTS RESTORED
POWER BOARD STAFF DECISION AT TE AWAMUTU [FROM OUR OWN CORRESPONDENT] TE AWAMUTU, Saturday Tho To Awamutu Electric-Power Board to-day considered notico of motion to restore all salary and wages cuts to the position prior to June, 1931, when a 10 per cent reduction was decided upon. Members of the board agreed that the time had come for the restoration of tho former wages and salaries, and unanimously agreed to the motion. It was stated at tho meeting that the change involved an additional annual payment of £306, and that each year inductions been made to consumers, totalling several thousands of pounds. It was timely, therefore, to show appreciation of the loyal services of the staff. Tho restoration of tho cut becomes operative as from April 1, 1934.
