PREMIUM ON LOANS Although a fair number of transactions was recorded there was not much activity on the 7 Auckland Stock Exchange on Saturday morning. Further dealing took place in Government loans at higher levels. A rise of 20s was recorded in 19.55 4 per cent bonds, which were lifted to £lO4, while. 1938-52 3$ per cent stock had sale £1 10s higher at £lO3 15s. Allowing for accrued interest these loans are now at a premium of approximately £2 12s 6d and £2 5s 6d, respectively.

The quiet tone of the banks croup was tinchanged. New Zealands were secured a penny lower at 48s 3d, followed by a later transaction at the current price of 48s 6d. at which figure more were available. The demand for insurance was strongly maintained. Levels of Goldsbrough-Morts continued to appreciate/ while in gas Aucklands advanced 2d on sale at 25s sd. New Zealand Breweries were unchanged at 41s 3d.

Mining suppoirt was maintained at the previous day's levels. W aibis at 35s failed to attract an offer. Blackwaters were done again at 325, while Big Eivers were fractionally firmer in dealing at 9d. Mahakipawas were released a shade easier at 7id.
