ANTARCTIC NIGHT
BEGINNING REPORTED' BYRD PARTY IN CAMP (Received April 22, 5.5 p.m.) NEW YORK. April 21 A wireless message from the Byrd expedition in the Antarctic says: " The days have shortened and the sunliglit has become dimmed. The four months' night has officially started. Rear-Admiral Byrd has named his post the "Boiling Advance Weather Station." .i The men of the winter party have almost completed their outside tasks. The East Barrier cache has been emptied of everything except a few. bales of hay. The last of the food supplies have been hauled from the retreat camp. The weather now is too cold for the dogs and has almost stopped the tractors, but one is to be kept in readiness to rush to the leader's assistance if necessary, though it is doubtful if it could reach its destination.
