SECRET MESSAGES
EMPLOYMENT OF BEES GERMAN APIARIST'S PLAN BERLIN. April 20 Emulating the Australian aborigines' method of finding honey in trees by gumming fluff on to the bodies of bees and thus making their homeward flight traceable, a well-known apiarist, Herr Bernhard Guehler, with a view to being able to send messages in time of war, has successfully employed bees to convey messages minutely written on very fine paper attached to their backs. The chance of interception of such messages is less than with carrierpigeons.
