LABOURER IMPRISONED THIRTEEN THEFT CHARGES Thirteen charges of stealing motor accessories were admitted by Petor Gresis, labourer, aged 54 (Mr. Aekins), who appeared before Mr. Wyvern Wilson, S.M., in the Police Court yesterday. Senior-Sergeant Flanagan Baid accused had been in Auckland since Easter, and had been receiving 12s 6d a week as a war pension. He had been associating with undesirables, and inquiries made by the police siTjce his arrest on a charge of drunkenness had led to the recovery of most of the articles, which had been disposed of at second-hand shops. Counsel said accused's downfall was due to drink. Accused was sentenced to 14 days' imprisonment on each of the 13 charges, the terms to be emulative. Thomas George Donald Wilkinson, labourer, aged 23, pleaded guilty to a charge of stealing an overcoat. Tho police said tho article was missed from a car left in Chapel Square, City, and Sergeant Dunne and a constable saw accused leaving the thoroughfare with the garment. Accused, who said ho had no money and could not find work, was remanded for a week for sentence.
