INTER-CLUB COMPETITIONS

CLOSE THIRD GRADE FINAL

The second half of' the final in the third "grade of the Auckland Lawn Tennis Association's competitions, played between St. Heliers and Unity at the Windmill Road courts on Saturday afternoon, proved to be a close contest, each side winning five matches. However, as St. Heliers established a lead of six matches to four last Saturday at Stanley Street, they are winners of the grade by 11 matches to 9. - The standard of tennis was high, especially in the first men's doubles. At one stage it appeared likely that Unity would win the grade, as in the second ladies' doubles they had one. set in and a lead of 5 —3 in the second set. However, St. Heliers took the next nine games, winning the second set, 6—5, and the third, 6—o. Individual results are as follows, St. Heliers names being mentioned first: — Men's Singles.—J. The delegates unanimously decided to form (i Morrinsville sub-association and to seek affiliation with the Waikato Lawn Tennis Association. Mr. C. Colson preIt was stated that Mr. T. A.
