"A COUNTRY GIRL"
TVith its sparkling music, charming ensembles and delightful choruses "A Country Girl" is to be presented at His Majesty's Theatre on Saturday afternoon and evening and the following five nights. During the present tour of the J. C. Williamson, Limited, New Comic Opera Company, this tuneful musical comedy has proved one of its most successful offerings, critics having described it as the company's best all-round production. Miss Romola Hansen's glorious soprano voice will be heard at its best in the numbers she will be called upon to sing in the title role, while Herbert Browne has an excellent singing part as Geoffrey Challoner, outstanding tenor songs being "The Sailor Man" and "My Own Little Girl." Don Nicol, who will be remembered for his performance as Nisclie in "The Merry Widow," and Phil Smith are splendid in comedy roles. Other prominent players are Marie La Varre, Eric Bush, Lois Green and Stella Collins. "Katinka," "The Chocolate Soldier" and " The Merry Widow" will be presented later in the season. Booking arrangements are advertised.
