AUSTRALIAN ATHLETES' VISIT CARNIVAL AT DOMAIN The principal sporting attraction to* day will be the athletic carnifal at the Domain, when the visiting Australian athletes, J. P. Metcalfe, T, E. Hampson and E. W. Barwick, 'will compete against prominent provincial # athletes, A-large attendance is expected ,and speciaj arrangements have . been made . to make the meeting,; an outstanding success. The senior cricket matches under the control of the Auckland Association will be continued at Eden Park, where the principal game will be between Grafton and on No. 1 wicket. The Suburban Association's senior B grade matches will be advanced a further * stage at Victoria Park. , A medal competition in two grades has been arranged by the . Auckland . Golf Club, while, a four-ball bogey handicap wilF be contested at ' Titirangi. There will be a medal handicap competition at the Maungakiekie,, Club, ft bogey match at the Akaraha Club, and a mixed foursomes : at the Pupuke Club.Programmes to mark the opening of the season, have been arranged by the Glendowie, Manukau f and Otahuhu Clubs.

The interest of yachting enthusiasts ■ will centre in the annual regatta of the Devonport Yacht Club to be held;' this afternoon. Programmes will be carried out by the other clubs. The principal rowing event will be the West End Club's President's At Home, for which a comprehensive programme has 1 : been arranged. - ■; Bowling club and inter-club matches will be played this afternoon, and tha Auckland' Lawn Tennis Association's competitions in the third and fourth grades will be concluded. Excellent entries have been received for® the Auckland Primary Schools' Association's swimming carnival to com. mence at 10 a.m. at the Calliope Dock, The Ponsoriby Swimming Club's harbour race for the Molloy Shield will take place this afternoon. The King's College athletic sports finals will be contested at the school.
