INTRIGUE AND ADVENTURE
A charmingly romantic story with a spice of intrigue anrl excitement is contained in Erie Spencer's latest publication, " The King of Spain's Daughter." The story deals with Jeremiah Blake, a young Englishman, who inherits an estate in Newfoundland, and sooner than sell it at a surprisingly high figure offered by two Americans, elects to live on the estate as a welcome change from city life. Unknown to him, however, but a fact of which the two Americans are only too well aware, the estate has valuable mineral deposits, and an element of villainy creeps into the young Englishman's peaceful solitude. A beautiful girl, daughter of. one of the American business men, plays an important, though innocent, part in the " double "dealing " of her father and his associate, and it is not until after much misunderstanding between the two .young people that happiness is attained. The story is rich in descriptive matter, this, apart from the charming nature of the story itself, making it a very readable book. " The Kins of Spain's Daughter," by Erie Spencer.
