TENDER SKINS IN AUTUMN

Late autumn is always a time of trial for the woman with a delicate complexion. The complexion usually suffers more in late autumn than in actual winter, for one is apt to be less careful with it. Cold winds have a very drying effect upon the skin, and for this reason the liberal use of a good feeding cream is essential to keep the skin soft and smooth. Every night during autumn the face and neck should be sponged with warm water, softened with a few drops of simple tincture of benzoin, dried and tlien smeared over with a good nourishing cream. The warm water opens the pores of the skin and makes it receptive to the cream, which should be allowed to remain on it for at least ten minutes.
