DISPLAY AT PUKEKOHE NEWLY-FORMED SOCIETY [from Otnt OWN CORRESPONDENT] PUKEKOHE, Friday. ( A fine display of cut flowers, fruit and garden produce was presented today at the first annual show of the recently-formed Pubekohe and District Horticultural and Beautifying Society, held, in the Masonic Hall. The president of the society, Mr. JE. Allan, welcomed the Countess of Orfofrd, who pointed out the value and purposes of growing fruit, flowers and produce, and declared the show open. .The Countess of Orford was accom- , panied by her daughter, Lady Anne Waipole.. • . 1 The show concluded with a session '; in the evening, for which a musical programme was provided by the Municipal Band and by an orchestra under the direction of Mrs. I. Watson. Winners of championship certificates for dahlias are as follows: — Champion of champions, and champion hybrid cactus: Mrs. V. Morris. Champion decorative: Mrs. Morris. Champion cactus: Mrs. T. B. Graham. Champion paeony: Mrs. John Cathcart.
