WHAKATAXE, Thursday: About 130 members.of the Wbakatane and Rangitaiki Agricultural ami Pastoral Association attended a meeting in the winter show buildings as Whakatane to-day to decide whether the future shows should be held at Awakeri or Whakatane. It was pointed out by the president, Mr. E. Law, that the Rangitaiki Association had amalgamated with tie "Whakatane Association for the purpcs® of holding one central show in the district at Awakeri. Since then a fresh proposition to acquire a site in' th# Whakatane Domain had been brought forward. ; , - - „ After a lengthy discussion tfa* president moved that the Awakeri sita be acquired, Mr. Ruddick, of Taneatua, seconding the r motion. • Mr. W. A. McCracken moved as a* amendment that the committee be instructed to negotiate for the Whakatane Domain site. Mr. F. C-. Yeoman, of Taneatua, seconded. On being put to the meeting th« amendment was carried by 75 rotes to 13, a number present refraining froa voting.
