CHURCH AT GORDONTON
FOUNDATION-STONE LAID [from our own correspondent] HAMILTON, Tuesday The foundation-stone of the new church at Gordonton was laid on Sunday afternoon by the Rt. Rev. C. A. Cherrington, Bishop of Waikato, in the presence of 150 settlers. In his address, the bishop said the erection of a church at Gordonton marked the consummation of many year's effort on the part of parishioners and settlers in the district. He congratulated the local committee and said he hoped the building would be opened freo of debt. An impressive service markod the laying of the stone. The church, which is being built of brick with a tiled roof, will have accommodation for ]OO, and is expected to be ready fcr occupation in a few weeks.
