THE VOGUE OF DIARIES
More and more English people, are keeping diaries. The demand i'or diaries sprang up suddenly during the war and continued fairly strongly for several years thereafter, when it seemed to die down a bit. But for the last several years the demand has again been increasing. One is reminded of the remark of Gwendolen in Oscar Wilde's " The Importance of Ucing Earnest": " I never travel without my diary; one should always have something sensational to read in the train."
