MELBOURNE VISITOR The lirst meeting for the year of the ladies' committee of the Animal Welfare Association was held last evening in the association's office, tinstone JJuilding, tho president, Miss Shroff, presiding. A full programme of activities for the coining year was submitted to the meeting and enthusiastically approved. A special vote of thanks was passed to Mrs. 1\ H. Smith, of "The Kennels," East 'J'aniaki, for her generous donation of £o from the proceeds of the gymkhana which she organises each year. An interesting letter was received from Mrs. Spencer Mason, who is at present in England, in which she gave an account of her visits to kindred societies' and a description of the work carried on by them. Mrs. Oswald Gihson, of Melbourne, a member of the Animal Welfare League of Victoria, gave an address on the work of the league. She concluded her remarks by emphasising the wonderful spirit of comradeship which existed among the honorary workers, each vieing with the other in her efforts to promote the interests of the league. A vote of thanks was accorded Mrs. Gibson.
