AMATEURS FROM WELLINGTON

TOD MORGAN RETURNING

Mr. W. Harper, custodian to 1 e; Auckland Boxing Association, has submitted a report to the executive in connection jvitli the loaning to schools, colleges, clubs and gymnasiums of material during the past season. Among the institutions to which ring equipment, gioves and other articles was loaned were:—Kuineu Agricultural and Pastoral Association, Auckland University College, New Zealand University, Sacred Heart College, Mount Albert Grammar School, King's College. Seddon Memorial Technical College. Sunshine Club, Taknpuna Grammar School, Auckland Military Sports Association, Prosperity week campaign committee, Auckland Plunket Society. Eastern Suburbs Football Club, and the various city and suburban gymnasiums. A team of Wellington amateurs will meet an Auckland team at the Town Hall on the night of March 19. The inter-provincial contests last year provided excellent sport, and the forthcoming matches will be eagerly awaited. A professional bout wiil he on the same programme. The Auckland Association lias bad several offers but has not yet finalised arrangements. Tod Morgan, the American, and junior welter-weight champion of the world, who proved last season the greatest draw card Australia has had for years, is returning to the lat tar country again. He is on the Monterey, which will reach Auckland on Friday and continue its journey to Sydney the same day, Morgan if> accompanied by Claude Vainer, feather-weight champion of America.
