THE TROTTING MEETING

SUMMER CLOTHES APPEAR RESULT OF FINE WEATHER The Auckland Trotting Club was fortunato that one of the few fine summer days which have been experienced this season-fell on Saturday, the first day of the club's February meeting. The sun shone warmly from a cloudless sky, and although a slightly cool breeze sprang up in the afternoon, it failed to spoil the pleasure of one of the really few fine days with which Auckland has been favoured lately. With past experience in mind women were rather conservative in th-3 matter of attire. Silk suits and ensembles were popular, and when thin summer frocks wero worn they Were usually accompanied by a light-weight coat. Cay colours were favoured, reds and blues being predominant, while here and thoie a sunshade added its quota to the brighter colour scheme.

Johns, navy and white checked silk suit and navy and white straw hat; Mrs. Norman Burton, fawn and cherry floral georgette irock and brown straw hat; Mrs. H. M. Hume, marine-blue georgette suit and blue straw hat to match; Mrs. Brodie, navy-blue georgetto frock and navy hat trimmed with white; Mrs. John Alexander, fawn and navy patterned frock with short navy coatee and small fawn straw hat; Mrs. N. A. Hepburn, black cloth suit and black and white hat; Mrs. Frank Bull, grey and white flecked wool georgette suit and navyblue and white hat; Mrs. Bertram Noakes, black and white flecked wool suit, black and white hat; Mrs. E. v. Sutherland, black marocain frock and black picture hat; Mrs. Aitken Commons, beige and primroso shantung frock and natural Ballibuntal hat; Mrs. H. J. D. Mahon, red wool georgette frock and red straw hat; Mrs. H. E. Vaile, beige and bronze silk suit and small black straw hat; Mrs. C.
