GUNS AT THE SHOW
Sir, —I noticed that some people objected to the inclusion of the artillery display at the Royal Show, chiefly, it seemed, on account of the noise created. I must admit that when the first gun was fired I received a - big shock, but I was to receive a greater shock. When the grand parade had started and the cattle entries came into the ring I was more than shocked to see that most of the Jersey females had covers on. A parade is surely to give the general public an opportunity of seeing the winners in all their glory, and there is certainly not much of it poking out each end of a cow cover. If breeders are going to persist in breeding such fragile and highlystrung creatures that can stand neither noise nor rain, then the sooner they go back to the grades the better. Katikati. Gkade Jersey.
