CARNIVAL AT WANGANUI
MASSED BANDS TATTOO CITY BEDECKED WITH FLAGS [BY TELEGRAPH —PRESS ASSOCIATION'] WANGANUI,! Thursday Ten days of carnival were commenced at Wanganui to-day. The Wanganui Jockey Club's meeting was the feature of the daylight events, while this evening a grand massed bands tattoo was held, and attended by several thousands of people. The city is bedecked with bunting, and at night thousands of' coloured lights adorn the shops. The programme proper will commenco next Monday with the arrival of the princess of the carnival.
