MOB OUT OF HAND
MOSLEMS IN KASHMIR TROOPS COMPELLED TO FIRE (Heoeived February 4, 5.5 p.m.) CALCUTTA. Feb. 3 A mob of 8000 Moslems at Srinigar, Kashmir, overpowered the police, attacked the Government Building and attempted to storm the Treasury building, which was saved from destruction by the arrival of troops. The soldiers were compelled to open fire before they dispersed the mob. Many of the demonstrators killed or wounded.
Early in the day a huge procession had been held though previously it had been banned. The trouble was due to the Moslems' discontent over the delay in J introducing political reforms recommended by the Glancy Committee in :L932.
