THE SOUTHERN CROSS
The monoplane Southern Cross, piloted by Sir Charles Kingsford Smith, Will visit Takapuna Beach this afterhoon to conduct passenger flights. Accompanied by Ladj' Kingsford Smith, Sir Charles visited the beach yesterday afternoon in a Gipsy Moth machine fend found that it was quite suitablo for the landing of the Southern Cross. The visitors were welcomed by the Mayor'of Takapuna, Mr. J. Guiniven, taembers of the Borough Council, ancJ about 300 people. A passenger flight to Waitangi will oa made by the Southern Cross on Monday morning.
