CHILD FILM ACTORS
When an " informer " drew the attention of the authorities in England to the fact that the law was being broken tiy the employment of children in " Love on Wheels," she put an effective stopper on any prospects British films'might have had of discovering a rival to Jackie Cooper or Dickie Moore. No matter how elaborate is the care taken to guard their moral and physical welfare, children must not work in studios under the present regulations, though licences may be obtained to enable them to appear on the stage. In several cases the structure of a story has had to be changed because tho law will take steps if a breach is reported. The Federation of British Industries is moving in the matter and it is probable that there will soon be an alteration permitting film children to work under .similar conditions to those that appear on the stage.
