"THE DUBARRY"
" The Dubarry," with Sylvia Welling in the title role, has achieved success in Sydney, where it has been given its first production in Australia by J. C. Williamson, Limited, at the Theatre Royal. The play is in a series of quickmoving scenes, with only one interval. According to the Sydney newspap«n, there are many scenes and costumes of exceptional charm and spectacular beauty, and applause was frequent as the curtain rose on each. Sylvia Welling has been highly praised for her sparkling and delightful performance as "Dubarry," the role she played in the London production and won fame as a star. The music is said to have the grace of Viennese operetta, in which the lovers' duet soars to its climax on a sweep of violins.
