HEREDITARY "PEELER"
Mr. Roland Guy Samuelson, a descendant of Sir Robert Peel, the founder of the modern police, has joined the Hertfordshire police as a constable. Fie is the only son of Captain Samuelson, of Hythe, and grandson of Mr. A. C. Leney, High Sheriff of Kent. Captain Samuelson said recently: " My son is 19$ and ho came to me for advice upon his career. He is a ward of court. I advised' him to join the police, which provides a good job to-day. I wanted him in the police because it really is a family business. My grandmother was a Miss Peel, and she was a direct descendant of Robert Peel, the founder of the police. My son joined as a constable for the reason that he lias greater opportunities that way."
