GERMAN GENERAL'S SWORD
A chivalrous gesture by a French artillery o flier, Major Jacques Maigret, has made him the friend of a German general, whom during the war he had made his prisoner. The general on that occasion handed over to his captot a sword with a richly studded hilt, which had been presented to him by the then Crown Prince. The other day the German general called upon Major Maigret at his home in Nancy, and asked to see the sword. The major gave it to him. The two former foes, after declaring their respect for each other's conduct in battle, fihook hands.
