PLANS FOR A VAST FOREST Rapid t progress is being made with a great plan to turn the famous Rob Roy country, which attracts thousands of visitors each year, into a vast forest, says a message from Glasgow, fho Trossaehs will also be affected. ' Its wild beauty will soon ring to the clamour of men clearing the ground for the first plantings. A few years hence, it is confidently expected, visitors will not know the place. But the transformation will bring new wealth and work to Scotland. The plan is in the hands of the Forestry Commission for Scotland. Here are the land purchases-to date: Strathyro, 6500 acres; Lochs Achrav and Ard, 3500 acres. Other purchases arc contemplated.
