BAN ON JEWS
MOTOR CLUB'S " HITLERISM " The six Jewish members of the Middlesbrough and District Motor Club in Yorkshire, which has imposed a ban on the admittance of Jewish members, all sent in their resignations in December. It is a gross piece of Hitlerism," said one of them, " and we are not alone in thinking that the ban is entirely unjust and uncalled for." A well-known business man in the town, a Gentile and a member of the club, who fought against the imposing of the ban said: "It is an absurd position. At a time of German persecution of Jewry this is a most unhappy occurrence in a country that professes to be tolerant. The matter is not ended. 1 am confident that the resolution will be wiped off the books at the next annual meeting."
