H AR RISON—WHYTE The marriage was celebrated at the Church of St. John the Evangelist at Royal Oak on Thursday evening of Nancy, eldest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Norman A. Whyte, Sunny Brae, Onehunga, to Mr. Charles King Harrison, only son of the Rev. and Mrs. C. F. R. Harrison, of St. John's Vicarage, Royal Oak. The father of the bridegroom, assisted by his son-in-law, the Rev. T. Partridge, officiated at the choral service, the wedding music being played by Mrs. Partridge, sister of the bridegroom. The bride, who was given away by her father, wore a frock of iTory silk craquelle cut on princess lines, with a cowl neck and pleated leg-of-mutton sleeves faced with ivory satin. The skirt flared to a long graceful train over which fell her veil of embroidered tulle, which was gathered into a soft cap held in place with orange blossom,. She carried a bouquet of blue delphiniums and water lilies. In attendance as bridesmaids wore Miss Laura Birch and Miss Margaret Mawson, who wore frocks of powder blue craquelle cut on the same lines as the bride's and trimmed with cyclamen shot with blue, and the sisters of the bride. Miss Lyndsay Whyte and Miss Cecil Whyte, who wore similar frocks' of a darker blue. All the attendants wore poivdcV blue picture hats trimmed with dark blue, and carried bouquets to tone. The bridegroom was attended by Mr. Murray Whyte as best man, and Mr. S. D. Kusabs as groomsman. After the ceremony h. reception was held at Sunny Brae, the home of the bride's parents, where the rooms were artistically decorated with blue lavender and pink shadings. Mrs. Whyte received her guests in a frock of black crepe georgette and lace, and a hat of black baku. She carried a bouquet of autumn tinted flowers. Mrs. Harrison, mother of the bridegroom, wore a frock of black and white marocain, and a black hat touched with blue. Her bouquet was of | orange and blue flowers. Miss Beverley j Whyte, the youngest sister of the bride, wore a frilled frock of scarlet organdie and a scarlet and white hat. She carried a posy of maidenhair and scarlet phlox. During the reception, Mrs. Partridge and Mrs. Ashton, sisters of the bridegroom, favoured the guests with | very pleasing duets. MONTAGUE—NIXON A charming wedding of interest to a wide circle of friends was celebrated on Thursday afternoon, when Miss Jenneth Ethel Amy Nixon, only child of Mr. and Mrs. F. W. Nixon, of Okaihau, Bay of Islands, was married to Commander Hugh M. Montague, R.N., also of Bay of Islands. The ceremony, which was performed by the Rev. H. K. Vickery, took place at the war memorial Anglican church at Titirangi. Miss Symonds officiated at the organ. The bride, who was given away by her father, wore a suit of delphinium blue Angora cloth with a hat of the same material. She carried a prayer book. The bridegroom was attended by Mr. M. Guthrie as best man. Following the ceremony a largely-attended reception was held at the home of Mrs. W. Pearson, Whareiti, Titirangi, where the rooms were attractively decorated with a profusion of summer flowers. On arrival the guests were received by Mrs. Nixon, mother of the bride, who wore a frock of black georgette with a black picture hat. She tarried a bouquet of pink and blue flowers. Mrs. Pearson was in a brown and fawn georgette frock and a wide-brimmed brown hat to match.
