WEEK-END ATTRACTIONS
ATHLETIC CHAMPIONSHIPS REGATTA AT KAWAU An exceptionally wide choice of outdoor entertainment will be provided for sports enthusiasts during the week-end. One of the principal events will be the Auckland provincial amateur athletic championships, to be held at the Domain this afternoon. Athletes from all parts of the province will be es'l he principal yachting fixture will be the Royal New Zealand Yacht Squadron's annual regatta at Kawau Island to-day, and most of the keel yachts in the harbour will make the trip to the island during the week-end. Races for smaller craft will bo held in the harbour to-day. Tho matches commenced last week under the auspices of the Auckland Cricket Association will be concluded to-day, and a new series of matches will be commenced by the Suburban Association. Inter-club rowing races will be conducted this afternoon by the Waitemata Boating Club and the Auckland and St. George's rowing clubs. Numerous club "nd inter-club matches have been arranged at the various bowliug greens, while the Auckland Lawn Tennis Association's competitions in the second, third, fourth and fifth grades will be continued. Several picnics by train, bus and steamer will be held to-day and tomorrow.
