MINISTERS' MOVEMENTS

ARRIVAL -OF MR. FORBES GATHERING AT WAITANGI ~ The Prime Minister, the Rfc. Hon. G. W. Forbes, will reach Auckland by the limited express from Wellington this morning. In tthe absence from the city of the Mayor, Mr. G. W. Hutchison, the Prime Minister will be met by the deputy-mayor, Mr. A. J. Entrican, who will be accompanied by the Mayoress. There will also bea representative gathering of prominent citizen* to welcome Mr. Forbes. The Prime Minister will spend the morning in Auckland and will leave by motor-car for Paihia after lunch to take part ,• in the ceremonies at Waitangi. He will return to Auckland next Thursday and on the following day he will officially open the Royal Shpw at Epsom, proceeding to Wellington that evening. Mr. Forbes will be accompanied by Mrs. Forbes and their .two daughters. •-> . The Minister of Finance, the Rt. Hon. J. G. Coates, mil arrive in Auckland by the limited express from Wellington this morning. He will go to Kawau later to witness the racing at the Royal New Zealand Yacht Squadron's regatta and to-morrqw evening will leave for the North to attend the Waitangi celebrations. The Minister of Lands, the Hon. E. A. Ransom, was unable to visit Waiheke Island yesterday, as he had planned, but he met in Auckland deputations of residents of the island. During the day he dealt with a number of departmental matters, including a discussion with the Auckland Land Board concerning the disposal of 23 subdivisions of the Galatea Estate in April next. He also received a number of private deputations. The Minister will leave this morning for Waitangi, paying a visit on the way to the Warkworth Show. He expects to return to Auckland next Wednesday. The Minister is accompanied by Mr. W. Robertson, Under-Secretary of Lands, and chairman of the Small Farms Board. The Hon. C. E. Macmillan, Minister of Agriculture, arrived in Auckland yesterday afternoon from Te Aroha and attended a demonstration of the new vacuum packing process for butter at the East Tamaki Dairy Company's factory. He is at the Station Hotel. He will leave for Waitangi to-morrow evening.
