Rushworth. 31.P.'s, arrived by the express yesterday morning. Mr. W. J. Holdsworth, chairman of the Auckland Electric-Power Board, returned to Auckland yesterday morning. Mr. J. F. Potter, headmaster of the Richmond School, who spent the vacation at Auckland, left fofr Nelson yesterday. Sir James Gunson, member of the Railways Board, was a passenger by the express which" arrived yesterday morning. Professor F. W. Worley, of Auckland University College, returned by the Ruahine yesterday after a year's leave of absence, which he spent in England. Sir Montague Barlow, was British Minister of Labour from 1522 to 1924, is a passenger* by the Rangitiki, which is due in Wellington on February 15. Captain C. McD. Lindsay, late of the Durham Light Infantry, arrived yesterday by the Ruahine with his wife and daughters. It is their intention to make their home in New Zealand. Mr. and Mrs. H, G. Milburn, of Seaview Road, Remuera, accompanied by their son Ivan, who was injured in an accident in a quarry at Dargaville recently, returned to Auckland yesterday. Archdeacon R. H. Cole, who was Archdeacon of Taranaki for 10 years, is returning to New Zealand with Mrs. Cole and their daughters by the Rangitiki, which is due in Wellington on February 15. Mr. J. Linklater, M.P. for Mana- ' watu, accompanied by Mrs. Linklater, arrived from the South yesterday morning, and will leave for Waitangi tomorrow evening. They are at the Station Hotel. < Mr. H. D. Dickinson, of Leeds University; who is exchanging as lecturer in economics with Mr. H. R. Rodwell, of Auckland University College, is a passenger bj the Rangitiki, which is due in Wellington on February 15. Mr. Lan Milnen Rhodes Scholar, ha* been .informed by cable from London that he ha:; gained his M.A. degree with first-class honours in English and French,. He is a son of Mr. Frank Milner, headmaster of Waitaki High School. " * Mr. K. E. Bullen, lecturer in math> matics at th 9 Auckland University College, returned by the Ruahine yesterday after two years at Capabridge University, where he has been studying applied mathematics, particularly seismology. He held a Strathcona Research Exhibition, and hopes to work on the available data on seismology in New Zealand. Professor H. G. Forder, who has been appointed to the chair of mathematics az Auckland University College, and Professor C. G. Cooper, who has been appointed to the chair of classics, will arrive in Aucklmd bv the lonic on February 10. Professor W. H. Sewell, the new professor of. English,.. is expected on February 26, and Professor James Rutherford, who is to occupv the chair of history, is due early in' March.
