DOCTOR FROM THE SEA
CALL TO PITCAIRN ISLAND During the last trip of the Ruahine, which arrived in Auckland yesterday, an appeal for medical assistance was made by wireless from Pitcairn Island. In spite of the fact that the ship arrived off the island at night, the medical officer put ashore and gavo advice in the case of two aged inhabitants who wore seriously ill. Everything possible was done for their comfort and medical stores left ashore for their future treatment.
