SMALL FARM AREAS
PURCHASES COMPLETED LAND IN KING COUNTRY PART OPEN FOR NEXT SEASON During his recent visit to the King Country, the Hon. E. A. Ransom, Minister of Lands, completed the purchase of an area of 392 acres. This area is situated in the Totoro survey district, near Aria, in the Taranaki land district, and it adjoins the block recently purchased from Mr. Wilson. Mr. Wilson's block comprises an area of 2400 acres, and the two farms together will subdivide admirably for the purposes of small farms. Mr. Ransom inspected both properties during his recent visit to the locality, and he expressed his satisfaction with them and their suitability for small farm settlers. Nearly the whole of Mr. Tucker's farm is improved, and a fair proportion of Mr. Williams' farm is suitable for immediate settlement. It is proposed to make about 12 or 14 holdings available in time for next dairy season and the balance of the blocks will be improved by means of unemployed labour.
