WRECKED MONOPLANE
PATHETIC FRENCH TRAGEDY DEBRIS FOUND FAR AWAY PARTS. Jan. ir, Debr is from the wrecked monoplane Emeraude was found hundreds of yards from the scene of the crash. This confirms the story of eye-witnesses that they saw the tail, rudder and wing break/off in the air. Owing to the gale the pilot apparently gave the engines full throttle in order to keep on an oven keel. Tjjere were pathetic scenes when the Air Minister, M. Cot, arrived to see the last of the machine in which he had flown to Moscow. One of the few recognisable things in the wreckage was a pair of woman's shoes half burned and a beautiful necklace belonging to M Chaumil.
The victims have been placed in Roffins ready for burial.
