TEXTILE WORKERS
GENERAL STRIKE WANTED DISPUTE IN AUSTRALIA (Received January 17. 9.45 p.m.) SYDNEY. Jan. 17 At a mass meeting of textile workers to-day it was resolved to call a general strike and to invite all workers to ceaso work immediately. The employers issued a statement to the effect that they will refuse to confer with tho union's representatives until tho strikers resume work. The opinion is expressed that it would be more profitable to sell the wool on hand than to attempt to turn it into cloth.
