MATCH AGAINST NAVY OLD AUCKLAND CLUB MEMBERS An interesting cricket match will be played at lEdcn Park to-day between teams representing the New Zealand Division of the Royal Navy and the old Auckland Cricket Club, which went out of existence when the district scheme ,\vub introduced in Auckland. Newspaper records show that the first match between the Navy and the club was played as far hnck as 1888. when the club's leu m included the Rev. Isaac Richards, Bishop of Duilrdin; Mr. Fred Earl, president of the Auckland Cricket Association and of the Auckland Cricket Club; Mr. J. Arneil, president of the Auckland Kugby Union and a life member of the Auckland Cricket Club; and Mr. A. M. Beule. also a life member of the club. The Auckland Club won by '2Ol (Arneil 53) to 02 und 02 for five wickets.

The hours of play to-day will be from 11 a.m. to 0 p.m., with the usual intervals. There will be no charge for admission. The club's eleven includes some notable players who have represented their provinces, while the Rev. E. O. Blamires has played for New Zealand. The tqams are as follows:

JUBILEE SMOKE CONCERT FUNCTION ON SATURDAY NEXT With the co-operation of all players and thoso interested in the game, the Auckland Cricket Association anticipates that its smoke concert, to be held at the Scots Hall next Saturday evenirg, will prove one of the outstanding features of the jubilee celebrations. In response to an invitation from the Auckland Association, representatives from most of the major and minor associations throughout New Zealand will be present. Several presentations will be made during the evening. The Pukekohe team, which was the winner of the country week tournament held at Eden Park at Christmas, will receive the Hollaby Shield, and the five life members of the Auckland Association, Messrs. J. IT. Watts, E. C. Beale, F. Earl, F. J. Ohlson and Carlton Hay. will be presented with gold medallions. A presentation will be made to each member of the successful Auckland Plunket Shield side by a prominent citizen, while any trophies, won by ' Aucklanders during the Plunket Shield matches will also be presented. The president of the Aucklartd Cricket Association, Mr. F. Earl, will preside. A souvenir programme to commemorate the jubilee will be issued at the function. Drees is informal, with flannels and blazers for preference.
