COUNTY HALF-HOLIDAY
CHANGE AT MANGONUI [BY TELEGRAPH —OWN COBBESPONDENT] KAITAIA, Wednesday It was decided at a meeting of the Mangonui County Council to-day to revert to Saturday as the half-holiday * for shops in the county- The voting was five for Saturday as the half-day and three for Thursday. Until two years ago Wednesday was the half-day in the county, but, on the Kaitaia town district changing to Saturday, the county followed suit. Then, when Kaitaia again changed to Thursday a year ago, the County Council decided to follow suit, so that a uniform half-holiday was observed throughout the district. On the question being considered today, the majority of the councillors expressed the opinion that the Government should be approached to have Saturday declared the universal halfholiday. throughout New Zealand.'
