ST. JOHN AMBULANCE

ONEHUNGA DIVISION CONCERT AND DANCE A well-staged "accident" was the culminating feature of an entertaining concert given on behalf of the Onehunga division of tho St. John Ambulance Association in the Orphans' Hall, Onehunga. Taking part in it were three little girls, Madge and Mary Peake and Bunty Vella, and Mr. Cyprian Peake, who played ths part of a garrulous old man to whom'the "accident" occurred. As a result of his carefully arranged fall, the opportunity was given for a display of first-aid rendered by the ambulance corps. Other items were character sketches by Mr. Alan McSkimming; conjuring by Mr. P. G. Sellar;, recitations by Miss Roseveare; songs by Miss Patti Schnackenberg, Mrs. Milligan and Mr. Cooper; and part-songs by the Orpheus Quartette (Dr. J. Kirkwood, Messrs. Nicholls, Ker and Goode). The accompanists were Misses Ker and Coates. The ambulance party comprised Messrs. Tootill (leader), Wilson, Brokenshire and Bennett. Mr. E. G. Cowell officiated as stage manager.

A well-balanced orchestra under the leadership of Mr. Hatton, and assisted by several members of the ambulance division, provided excellent music for an enjoyable dance, which fojlowed the concert.
