DARING CANOE TRIP
100 MILES DOWN RIVER TWO SOUTH ISLAND GUIDES [BY TELEGRAPH—PRESS ASSOCIATION'] CHRISTCHUK CII. Sa turdny A daring ennoe voyago down the Tekapo and AVaitaki Rivers to the hydro-electrie work at Ivurow was begun by Guides Oscar Cobereer and Felix Harvey to-day, using the canoe in which they successfully navigated iho perilous reaches of the Waimakariri last February. Messrs. Coberger and Harvey left Lake Tekapo at.nine o'clock this morning on the first stage of their 100-niilo journey by water. They will stay the night at Ilaldon station, which is situated on the east bank of the Waitaki River, south of the junction of the Tekapo. Pukaki, and Oban Rivers. To-morrow at dawn they will start on the second stage of their voyage.
