ROTARY CLUB FORUM

GATHERING AT OKOROIRE [nY TELEGRAPH—OWN" CORRESPONDENT] PUTA'RURIT, Sunday About 30 members of tho Auckland, Hamilton and Rotorua. Rotary Clubs attended a joint conference, or forum, held at Okoroire Springs, during the week-end. Discussion on various phases of present-day conditions occupied a great part of tho conference, but. nevertheless, the visitors were a bio to devote much time to golf, bowling and tennis. The weather was model ately line, with the exception of this morning, which was unsettled. The forum opeend on Friday evening, when Mr. .J. T. F. Mitchell gave a paper on the superannuation scheme proposed by Mr. G. Lane, of the Duncclin Rotary Club. Mr. S. J. llarbutt, president of the Auckland Rotary Club, presided. On Saturday morning an interesting paper on "Bill tho Worker's Idea of rncmploymcnt" was read by Mr. R. -I. Laird. Members of the Hamilton Club presented on Saturday evening a series of talks entitled "Lightning Sketches of present-day Conditions and Suggested Remedies." Air. .J. .McDowell, president of tlie Rotorua Club, was chairman. Sir George Kowlds presided over the I'oruni this morning, when a paper was presented by Mr." H. lVarsley on the work being done by the Rotary Club Sunshine Committee. The gathering disbanded shortly after mid-da y.
