POLO CLUB'S YEAR
AFFAIRS AT MATAMATA 1 ' 1 [from our own correspondent] MATAMATA, Saturday Tho second annual meeting of tho Matdmata Polo Club was held last evening, Mr. Scfton Bnnks presiding. Tho report stated that tho first year had bcon successful in every way and that the young players had received great experience by competing in the Auckland provincial tournament. The financial statement showed that, a profit of £27 had been made on the sports meeting, and that the yea? ended with a credit balance Of £2l. The following officers were electedPatror.. Mr. G. Johnston: president, Mr. SoHoa Banks; vice-presidents. Messrs. A. S. Thvrlv/all and J. Price; secretary and treasurer, Mr. C. G. Payze; hon. surgeons. Dr. J T Laurenson and Dr. D. R. Aberne<.hy; club captain. Mr. C. Morgani committee, Messrs. F. Maisey. J. Elliott,, E. Johnston, F Vospcr, D. McCarthy, K. Buchanan, a! W. Burns, C Morgan and F. Klaus; selector. Mr. S. Banks; coach, Mr. b. V lt P6 was decided to commence practice on October 14 and to hold tho official opening on November 4.
