IMPRESSIVE LAST TRIBUTES PAID YESTERDAY AT THE FUNERAL OF THE MAORI "KING" RATA MAHUTA The funeral of "King" Te Rata Mahuta te Wherowhero at the Maori cemetery on Taupiri Mountain yesterday afternoon. There was a long funeral procession from the Waahi Pa Huntly. to the cemetery. In addition to a large gathering of Maoris the Government representatives at the funeral included the Rt. Hon. J. G. Coates, Minister of Finance, who can be seen to the left of the picture, and Sir Apirana Ngata.
