LITTLE GIRLS KILLED
STRUCK BY MOTOR-CYCLE
SIDECAR PASSENGER HURT [BY TELEQRAPH —PRESS ASSOCIATION] WELLINGTON, Sunday Injuries from which she died within 20 minutes were received by Dawn May, aged five, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. James May, of Waliaceville, when she was run over by a motor-cycle ridden by Mr. Kenneth G. Morgan, of Karori, on the main road at Upper Hutt this afternoon.
Mr. Charles Hamilton Day, of Karori, who was a passenger in the side-car, received a broken collarbone aiuPother injuries through the motorcycle falling on him. THROWN FROM HORSE FRACTURED SKULL RECEIVED [from our own correspondent] HAMILTON, Sunday The death occurred in the Waikato Hospital yesterday morning of Annie Elizabeth Ranstead, the 13-year-old daughter of Mr. and Mrs. W. L. Ranstead, well-known residents of Matangi, as the result of a fractured skull received on Friday. The girl was riding homo from tho Matangi store, and was about to enter the gate of her parents' farm when tho horse slipped on tho bitumen, and the girl was thrown. She struck nor head a severe blow, and was rendered unconscious. She was admitted to the Waikato Hospital, and died at 6.30 a.m. yesterday without regaining consciousness.
The deceased was a pupil of tho Hamilton High School, and was fond of riding and following the Waikato hounds.
An inquest was hold before the coroner, Mr. F. W. Platts, S.M., yesterday, and a verdict was returned that deceased died from injuries accidentally received. GREYMOUTH FATALITY CHILD UNDER SERVICE CAR [BY TELEGRAPH —PRESS ASSOCIATION] GREYMOUTH, Saturday The two-vear-old daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Reynolds, farmer, of Barrytown, was killed instantly this morning through being .struck by a service ear. It is understood that the girl was in front of the car when it stopped and her presence was not noticed when the car restarted.
